Jackson State University (JSU) is a public historically black university located in Jackson, Mississippi, USA. It was founded in 1877 as Natchez Seminary, then evolved into Jackson College in 1927, and finally became Jackson State University in 1974. Today, JSU is a comprehensive research institution offering undergraduate and graduate degree programs across a wide range of disciplines.
The university is organized into six colleges: the College of Business, the College of Education and Human Development, the College of Liberal Arts, the College of Public Service, the College of Science, Engineering and Technology, and the School of Journalism and Media Studies. The university offers more than 50 bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degree programs, including a range of MBA programs.
JSU’s College of Business offers an MBA program that provides students with a broad foundation in the functional areas of business, including accounting, economics, finance, management, marketing, and information systems. The program is designed to develop students’ analytical, critical thinking, and communication skills, preparing them to be effective business leaders. Students have the option to choose from four different tracks: the General MBA, the Executive MBA, the Health Care Administration MBA, and the Project Management MBA.
The General MBA is a traditional program that prepares students for a variety of business careers. It consists of 36 credit hours and can be completed on a full-time or part-time basis. The Executive MBA is designed for experienced business professionals who want to advance their careers while continuing to work. It consists of 36 credit hours and is offered in a blended format that includes both online and on-campus courses. The Health Care Administration MBA is designed for students who want to pursue careers in the health care industry. It consists of 42 credit hours and includes courses in health care finance, health care delivery systems, and health care policy. The Project Management MBA is designed for students who want to develop the skills and knowledge needed to manage complex projects in a variety of industries. It consists of 36 credit hours and includes courses in project management, quality management, and risk management.
Along with the MBA programs, JSU also offers a range of other business-related graduate programs, including Master of Accountancy, Master of Science in Economics, Master of Public Policy and Administration, and a Master of Science in Quality. The university also offers a variety of undergraduate business programs, including accounting, finance, management, marketing, and economics.
